By booking with the Red Lion we ensure the hire of a suitable Indian canoe provided at our garden landing stage for your extraordinary experience of going with the current as far as Park End Wharf at Lechlade-on-Thames.

Leave the canoe at Lechlade under arrangements we make for you with Park End Wharf, and we also pick you up and transport you back to the Red Lion.

Alternatively, you can walk the Thames Path to the Red Lion before or after your rowing trip.

The river has played a major part in the history of the area from Roman times when barges navigated as far as Cricklade, although today only canoists are seen to be able to regularly use the stretch upriver of Castle Eaton.

You can now experience riverscapes and country views seldom viewed, and Park End Wharf craft are provided with safety equipment.
